It is better to find a whole worm in an apple then half of one! Never argue with seven men if all you’re packing is a six-shooter! Never trust a skinny cook! A young boy can gain much knowledge in school, but it is his classmates who educate him! There’s a lot of wisdom in these sayings and there are many more. The Wisdom of Solomon is described in our first reading today. When asked by God what he wanted, Solomon answered that he be the best ruler for his people and an understanding heart to make just decisions. The wisdom is that he was not selfish in his answer. He wanted the best for his people. Intelligence is nor the same as wisdom. Wanting to know and live God’s will for us is true wisdom. It seems wisdom begins with selflessness. Let’s all pray for more true wisdom. One more wise saying: It is better to be silent and be thought of as a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt…
