From Fr. Tom,
My mom was a pretty good cook and I’m grateful that I lived as a child in those days when it was the norm to sit down and have supper as a family. I cook a little bit now and then, but I have trouble having everything get done and hot at the same time; I don’t know how mom did that! We had no microwave back then. God feeds us every day with delicious hot meals of grace and blessings. Are we aware of that? The worst starvation is spiritual starvation. The feeling of having nothing to believe in or not having a solid foundation of faith to give meaning to earthly existence is debilitating. Many of the folks we see in recent news who are destroying property, damaging public buildings, and threatening others fall into this category. Take some time this week to pray for “wandering souls” that God feed them and that they accept it.
