No doubt, we all know the good feeling that comes from helping somebody out with whatever they needed at that time.  How do we like it when someone tries to help us?  I’ll be honest, I feel a little inadequate and almost embarrassed when I need help.  It’s almost like I’m not good enough or talented enough to handle what’s in front of me.  It might be a “man thing” but I can remember many times at my former parish at our food pantry, the woman would come in to ask for help for her family, not the man.  The choice to help the poor and needy is something that needs to be taught and learned at a young age.  If it isn’t, then what follows are attitudes of ungratefulness and entitlement.  Gratefulness and generosity are the mothers of all virtue.

Have a great week!
