This week I will be on retreat at the White House Jesuit Retreat Center with about 30 of my fellow priests. Please pray for all of us. I’ve attended this retreat for many years and I remember a long time ago that the younger priests liked to sit at the older priests’ tables at meal times and listen to their great/weird stories. Now the younger priests are sitting at MY table along with us more “experienced” priests listening to us! It is a true joy to be with the other priests as we contemplate Jesus and our vocations. I will return Saturday, November 9th.
This weekend our parish congratulates Chris Block as she retires from 20 years of dedicated service to St. Joseph! We also congratulate Rich Birke as he retires from 5 years of dedicated service here at St. Joseph! Join us at the hall Sunday after the 10am mass as we give them a fond farewell and wish them the best in their future endeavors. We thank them both for serving us. AND…this week we welcome Sarah Johnson as our new parish secretary/bookkeeper! Welcome to our staff, Sarah!
