From your Pastor

There are several upcoming events for you to get ready for:

  1. The PCD committee is hosting a Family Trivia Night this coming Friday evening, November 30th. The event is for parishioners and guests of all ages. Food and drinks will be provided – see the bulletin for more details.
  2. Next Sunday, December 2nd will be the First Sunday of Advent – amazing that we’re already at that point in the year! In order to enter into the solemnity of the season, Mass will be offered on the Thursday evenings of Advent [December 6, 13, and 20] beginning at 7:00 p.m. I will be available both before the Mass and afterwards for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. All are welcomeJ In addition, an Advent devotional booklet will be offered to every family for their reflection during these holy days of preparation. Please pick up your family’s copy of “God with Us” at your convenience this weekend.
  3. Third, I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to our PSR group for the purchase of TV monitors and Blu-Ray players and for the acquisition of new books for the students. Currently, we have purchased or acquired by gift the technology equipment in the classrooms and we are now working on getting them properly installed. At present we are waiting for a decision from the Archdiocese regarding the specific textbook series that they will recommend. As soon as the choice is made, we will be able to determine the remaining cost. In any case, you have my sincere gratitude for the speed and generosity of your response – thank you so much!
  4. Finally, as they normally do, Kenrick-Glennon Seminary will host their annual Advent Novena during the evenings from December 5-13, 2018. All friends of the seminary are invited to join the seminarians for nine evenings of prayer and worship in preparation for Christmas. Each night of the Novena will begin at 7:00 p.m. and focus on one of the traditional “O Antiphons” including prayer, Scripture, a reflective homily, and hymns led by the seminarian choir. The Novena will take place in the seminary’s Chapel of St. Joseph. If interested, you can attend one or all of the evenings, more details can be found online or you can ask meJ. The schedule will be as follows:
