From Fr. Tom,
Jesus, the Good Shepherd! The Responsorial Psalm for this Sunday is Psalm 23, perhaps the most familiar and most recited of all 150 Psalms. “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” These words alone have the capacity to bring comfort to anyone in any situation. The simple knowledge that God really cares about us and leads us to good things is priceless. Still, there are people who are so deep in self-pity and selfloathing they say things like, “What has God done for me? What does God care?” One might ask how they got to that low point. The word that comes closest to describing Hell is despair, no hope of even having hope. Today, let’s all be reassured the Good Shepherd is here waiting to lift us up and carry us to greener pastures. I hope to see everybody soon in church!
